FEICA organised a Food Contact Seminar in Brussels on 28 September 2017 titled ‘Safe Adhesives for Safe Food’. The seminar concentrated on migration testing of adhesives and especially the testing of the migration of mineral oil hydrocarbons. It was intended for persons that have to carry out migration testing or assess the results of such tests.
Safe Use of Mixtures Information (SUMI) is a communication template, developed by the Downstream Users of Chemicals Co-ordination Group (DUCC) to facilitate the information-flow downstream to the end-users.
In addition to FEICA's previous contribution (6 June 2017) to the public consultation of the diisocyanate restriction, FEICA points out that the exemption part of the restriction will be an essential part of this regulation.

FEICA announced the launch of its Award for Innovative Adhesion Science at its 2017 European Adhesive & Sealant Conference and EXPO. The joint EURADH (European adhesion societies) and FEICA Award for Innovative Adhesion Science aims to stimulate the interactions between industrial and scientific activities.
This year’s FEICA European Adhesive & Sealant Conference and EXPO, held in Sardinia, Italy, from 13 to 15 September, was once again the place to be to discuss the industry’s new market drivers, trends and innovations.
FEICA has been working proactively to minimise the impact on the adhesive and sealant industry of the proposed EU-wide restriction on diisocyanates. A test method for monomeric diisocyanates is now available for FEICA members.
