Environmental, Health and Safety protection
The European adhesives and sealants manufacturers under the umbrella of FEICA develop and sell products and systems which give a special benefit to the customer. This strategy includes a commitment to the constant improvement of safety and environmental aspects.
FEICA Members support and maintain an intensive internal and external communication process informing on issues relating to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) protection. Information is made available in an open manner, ensuring that members are quickly and efficiently up to date with issues that affect them or their customers.
An important part of FEICA's work is related to REACH. The fundamental aim of the REACH Regulation is to ensure all uses are safe for human health and the environment. In order to facilitate the implementation of REACH and the communication in the supply chain, FEICA (together with other industry sectors) has developed several tools and guidance. Read more in the REACH section of our key projects.
The Downstream Users of Chemicals Co-ordination Group (DUCC) is a platform of European associations which represent 'downstream' industries. DUCC's main objective is to contribute, with a common voice, to the successful implementation of the requirements of the REACH and CLP Regulations. More on DUCC here.
Official partner of the European Agency for Safety and Health at work
Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances
In 2018, FEICA was accepted as an official campaign partner of the European Agency for Safety and Health at work (EU-OSHA). The 'Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances' campaign raised awareness of the risks posed by dangerous substances in the workplace and promoted a culture of risk prevention. FEICA will continue its work making information and guidance on safe handling of chemicals in the workplace widely available for professional and industrial users.
Safe and healthy work in the digital age
For 2023-2025, FEICA was again accepted as an official campaign partner of EU-OSHA. The ‘Safe and healthy work in the digital age’ campaign is organised into several priority areas, which are promoted using special communication and promotion packs which FEICA, as a proud partner, will help to promote and distribute through various channels.
The priority areas are:
- digital platform work (February 2024)
- automation of tasks
- remote and hybrid work
- worker management through AI
- smart digital systems.
Each area covers a specific topic related to the impact of new digital technologies on work and workplaces.
The campaign materials, including a leaflet explaining how you can get involved, are available here. They are available in various European languages.
