Adhesives for sustainable development: Durability

M-Resins technology allows the reseal of opened flexible packaging of food, thus improving conservation and saving additional packaging material.

Posted 09 Mar 2018
  • With more than 18.8 million tons and almost 300 billion units produced globally, the market for flexible packaging for food is a major industry.
  • Resealable packaging improves product conservation and therefore reduces food waste.
  • It also reduces packaging consumption by eliminating the need to use additional materials such as plastic films or aluminium foils, and secondary packaging such as plastic boxes, once the packaging has been opened.
  • M-Resins used in the food packaging industry to produce resealable packaging are 100% solid, pressure-sensitive adhesives that can be extruded on most standard blow and cast extrusion lines.
