  The EU has approved the ALMA project (Advanced Light MAterials and Processes for the Eco-Design of Electric Vehicles). FEICA has been a Supporting Partner to help build their case.

  ALMA aims to improve the efficiency and driving range of electric vehicles by reducing the weight of the global vehicle structure. In addition, this 3-years project will also promote the adoption of circular economy principles from early stages across the entire vehicle life cycle.

• FEICA and EFCC suggested list of Interchangeable Component Group (ICG) names.pdf

  In order to contribute to the improvement of the Poison Centre Notification (PCN) format, FEICA and EFCC (European Federation of Construction Chemicals) provided the European Commission with a non-exhaustive list of Interchangeable Component Group (ICG) names in January 2020. The listed ICG names are available for use in the PCN format.

   

  An ICG consists of multiple similar components (fitting certain criteria), where each can be used interchangeably in a mixture without altering that mixture’s overall classification, hazard or emergency health response.

  FEICA published a Position Paper with the perspective of the adhesives and sealants industry on the registration of polymers. Polymers are currently exempted from registration under Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 of REACH. However, Article 138(2) of REACH foresees a possible further review of REACH to extend the registration requirements to polymers.

  FEICA provides input to the ECHA call for evidence on MCCP

  The European Commission has requested ECHA to prepare an Annex XV Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) proposal for alkanes and C14-17 chloroalkanes for submission in February 2021. As medium-chained chlorinated paraffins (MCCP) mixtures are very important for OCFs, FEICA and individual interested FEICA members have contributed to this call for evidence.
