As intermediate products supplying a wide range of strategic industries, adhesives and sealants play an essential enabling role throughout the value chain. FEICA therefore recommends avoiding the application of quotas or biomass/low-carbon content targets directly to the A&S sector, as such measures would create disproportionate costs with limited environmental benefit. Given the relatively small volumes involved, they would also provide little support to downstream industries in achieving any targets established at end-product level.
