The FEICA Guidance on PPWR Declarations of Conformity explains obligations for adhesives and sealants companies when they fall under the PPWR definition of manufacturers. From 12 August 2026, they must ensure compliance, conduct conformity assessments, and prepare a Declaration of Conformity (DoC). The guidance clarifies roles, responsibilities, and information flows across the supply chain, highlights confidentiality considerations, and outlines current versus future obligations, with recommendations for consistent communication and documentation.

On 16 October, Thorsten Wind, Vice-Chair of the FEICA Task Force on Implementation of the SPM Restriction, presented the SPERCS tool at the 2025 MARII Summit on Microplastics. The concept helps FEICA members fulfil reporting requirements under EU Regulation 2023/2055 on environmental emissions of synthetic polymeric microparticles (SPM). Based on FEICA SPERCs, statistical data, and sewage treatment technologies, the tool enables regional-level reporting, supporting compliance and sustainability in the adhesives and sealants sector.

This is an update of the FEICA Guidance Paper 2016. This guidance paper forms part of a package on migration testing of non-plastic food contact materials developed by several sector associations from the packaging supply chain.
