FEICA Fact sheet SpERCs - Formulation of adhesives, version 2, revised February 2013

FEICA has developed sector-specific SPERCs to comply with REACH chemical safety assessments. The SPERCs allow the refinement of the environmental emission estimations, as they provide more realistic parameter values.

Overview of changes in FEICA SpERCs

In order to reflect improvement, the factsheets have been revised by the sector organisations, generally by reformatting and adding more detailed background information to enable its transparent application. Furthermore the SpERCs have been simplified. While the previous SpERCs still remain valid, the new revised SpERCs have assigned new version numbers (v2) to discriminate between the different assumptions made in both, the previous and the revised version.

  • Guidance at a glance - ES series (2) - Relevance of SPERCs to FEICA members.pdf

For members Uploaded December 01, 2015

This second publication in the FEICA 'Guidance at a Glance' series on Exposure Scenarios (ES) addresses the Specific Environmental Release Categories (SPERCs) with an overview of their relevance for FEICA members.

FEICA, among other sector associations, developed SPERCs on a voluntary basis using a recently standardised best practice format .The FEICA SPERCs describe the environmental emissions from typical uses of adhesive and sealants in industrial, professional and do-it-yourself applications, as well as from its product formulation.  Together with the recent development of the sector-Specific Worker Exposure Descriptions (SWEDs) and sector-Specific Consumer Exposure Determinants (SCEDs), the SPERCs build the basis for registrants to provide safe use scenarios of their chemicals. For FEICA members they can provide evidence and facilitation in safe use communication.
