The aim of this course is to provide knowledge of the underlying principles of adhesion and an understanding of how methods of joining materials together with adhesives can be optimised to maximise bond strength and longevity.
The aim is to offer an insight into different adhesive systems, dispensing adhesives, surfaces treatments, cured adhesives, designing with bonded joints, mechanical testing of bonded joints, durability and accelerated ageing and, quality control.
The aim of the session is to give participants an understanding of the manufacturing, application and controls of a wood adhesive.
With this training, the attendees will get an understanding of the different relationships of adhesive technology compared to conventional joining techniques and thus they will be able to avoid errors in production.
The training goal of the refresher courses is the continuous further education and renewal of already acquired adhesive technology knowledge.

The research on this subject is driven through a material-by-design approach relying on the formulation of a set of requirements in terms of performances and constraints, based on which the best material solution is sought.
