  • Joint statement on Sector use maps.pdf

    Uploaded October 10, 2016

A joint statement titled "Improving the safe use of chemicals in Europe through excellence in supply chain communication" was signed on 6 October 2016 by DUCC, ECHA and CEFIC.

Accurate and clear information on the conditions of safe use of chemicals generated and communicated along the supply chain is essential in ensuring the successful implementation of the European Union’s REACH Regulation. To that end, DUCC, ECHA and CEFIC acknowledge the crucial role that sector use maps play in achieving excellence in supply chain communication.

Please see the ECHA and CEFIC communications for more info.

FEICA (as part of DUCC) will continue promoting the tools and raising awareness among downstream industry organisations to produce sector use maps to support registrants in generating meaningful exposure scenarios.

  • Guidance at a glance - ES series (5) - Communicating information on ‘use’ for mixtures within the supply chain: SWEDs and SUMIs - for members.pdf

For members Uploaded October 04, 2016

The fifth publication in the FEICA 'Guidance at a Glance' series on Exposure Scenarios (ES) explains how to communicate information on ‘use’ for mixtures within the supply chain, SWEDs and SUMIs.

This document, developed by FEICA's Exposure Scenarios TTF, explains the sector-specific, bottom-up approach to help you comply with your REACH obligations to provide ‘safe use information’ for classified hazardous mixtures.

    • It includes the ‘solution’ to communicate Safe Use of Mixture Information (SUMIs) downstream to the end-users – i.e. your customers.

In addition it also covers the solution to assist you informing on your uses and use conditions upstream:

    • the Sector-specific Worker Exposure Description (SWEDs), which serves as upstream communication of the exposure parameters for the registrants’ assessments.

  • Guidance at a glance - ES series (4) - Communicating information on ‘use’ for mixtures within the supply chain: Use maps - for members.pdf

For members Uploaded October 04, 2016

The fourth publication in the FEICA 'Guidance at a Glance' series on Exposure Scenarios (ES) explains how to communicate information on ‘use’ for mixtures within the supply chain, the so-called Use Maps.

This document, developed by FEICA's Exposure Scenarios TTF, explains you the different ‘exposure packages’ and use reporting tools that are being finalised to assist you with the communication of the uses and conditions of use of your typical adhesive and sealant applications upstream - i.e. to your  suppliers (to ultimately have your use covered in the registrant’s dossier).
