Environmental, Health and Safety protection

The European adhesives and sealants manufacturers under the umbrella of FEICA develop and sell products and systems which give a special benefit to the customer. This strategy includes a commitment to the constant improvement of safety and environmental aspects.

The members of FEICA support and maintain an intensive internal and external communication process informing on issues relating to Environmental, Health and Safety protection (EHS). Information is made available in an open manner, ensuring that members are quickly and efficiently up to date with issues that affect them or their customers.

An important part of FEICA's work is related to REACH. The fundamental aim of the REACH Regulation is to ensure all uses are safe to human health and to the environment. In order to facilitate the implementation of REACH and the communication in the supply chain, FEICA (together with other industry sectors) has developed several tools and guidance. Read more in the REACH section of our key projects.

In 2018, FEICA was accepted as an official campaign partner of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA). The ‘Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances campaign’ aims to raise awareness of the risks posed by dangerous substances in the workplace as well as to promote a culture of risk prevention to eliminate and, where that’s not possible, effectively manage these risks.

The partnership marks the start of two years of events and activities aimed at raising awareness to the topic. FEICA will particularly support the campaign with the adhesives and sealants sector's best practices and tools to improve the safe use of chemicals.

Dangerous substances: info-sheets on legislation and substitution

As part of the 2018-2019 Healthy Workplaces Campaign, EU-OSHA has published two info-sheets, each available in several languages.
